Student Services Spotlight on… Housing & Residence Life |
What is the Housing & Residence Life (HRL)?
The Department of Housing and Residence Life (HRL) provides a living, learning environment that fosters academic and personal experience for residents, helping them prepare for the rest of their lives. There are six on-campus residence halls for undergraduate students and two apartment buildings, located in South Orange, for sophomores, juniors and seniors. HRL is located in Duffy Hall, Room 68, and can be reached at (973) 761-9172 or shuhousing@shu.edu.
-
HRL provides residence hall virtual room tours and a robust FAQs page.
-
Each year HRL collaborates with other campus partners to host programming geared toward first-year students during The First 56 Days of the fall semester.
- Last year, a record number of students (225) applied to be a resident assistant.
"My personal journey as a resident assistant has been a rewarding one, centered around building a tight-knit community and fostering a sense of home at the Hall. By being a dependable source of support and resource for students, I’ve had the privilege of making their university experience truly memorable!"
