Summer Construction Projects
|
Consistent with the university’s usual approach, there are a number of campus maintenance projects scheduled for this summer ahead of the fall semester. The summer maintenance schedule includes two projects beginning immediately after Commencement.
Beginning mid-May, workers will be extending electrical utilities from Olin Library to McMillan Hall beneath the fire lane, and sanitary utilities beneath Louderman Hall to the Women’s Building. This project requires utility boring 30+ feet deep, as well as lane closures to Throop Drive and a minor bridge detour for the Great Rivers Greenway. Signage will be posted along the Greenway to alert travelers.
Concurrently, there will be a roof repair projects for several buildings that will require lane closures along Snow Way Drive, and periodic shutdowns to Throop Drive. Signage will be posted along Big Bend Blvd., alerting travelers to the change.
Work hours for both projects are scheduled for 7 A.M. – 3:30 P.M. on weekdays. While we are not currently scheduled to do weekend work, it may be required due to the weather. All work and deliveries for the utility project will occur on campus. Neighbors may notice construction traffic from the Throop Drive or Snow Way Drive entrances to campus; however, we do not anticipate disruptions to traffic flow on Forest Park Pkwy or Big Bend Blvd.
