Julie Taylor, our wonderful Youth Literacy Program Director, is retiring after thirty-five years as an educator. Julie has worked as a teacher, school principal, volunteer tutor, and non-profit director.
With her leadership, the Youth Literacy program has grown to support multiple after-school and summer camp programs around Asheville, where trained tutors provide one-to-one literacy instruction for elementary-age children in our community. The Youth Literacy Program also sponsors a paid internship program for young adults.
Therefore, we seek an experienced and passionate candidate to serve as the new Youth Literacy Program Director and continue Julie's impactful work.
Thank you, Julie, for all you've done during your career in education! We will miss you, but we are excited about this new chapter of your life.
