Thank you for joining the DRC's Leadership Dallas Alumni Association (LDAA) for an opportunity to connect with three of our regional mayors. At the annual breakfast last week, the mayors of Arlington, Mesquite, and Plano spoke about a shared spirit of service in leading their communities.

MEMBERSHIP REMINDERS

What an amazing year we've had so far. We will take a break from the LDA newsletter for the summer and be back with more exciting news in September.

Dues are also on pause as we wrap up refreshing the LDA experience.

As we prepare to restart in-person programming, volunteers are needed for the new and returning committees on the LDA council: Community Engagement, Membership, Programs, and Resource Development. LDA will also appoint one representative for key DRC councils and task forces. Applications for these exciting opportunities will open in the fall. If you'd like to get involved in the interim, please email leadership@dallaschamber.org.

CLASS NOTES

Finally, a chance to meet in person! The Leadership Dallas 2021 class met on Saturday, April 17, for a socially-distanced outdoor Class Project Day at the corner of Ledbetter and Lancaster in the heart of Southern Dallas, site of the new Genesis Outreach Center.

LD '21 landscaped the front arrival area and arranged for a drive-up donation station, filling Turner Construction Company’s 18-wheeler with goods for the center’s new Genesis thrift store. The building has a fresh coat of paint and new signage will be provided by the class in coming months.
