Here's your bi-weekly update from IPC's ISSS office with the latest immigration updates, student services offerings, and campus involvement opportunites!

IPC will be closed on November 4, 2022. We will reopen on Monday, November 7, 2022.

Appointments Available

We are continuing to do virtual/in person appointments. You can sign up for appointment slots. If you would like to meet in person, make sure to notate that in the calendar!

First come, first served basis. Tuesdays/Thursdays from 2pm-4pm. When arriving, please make sure to sign in at the QR code kiosk in Foust 200!

Graduating in December?

OPT Applications opened September 10!

Optional Practical Training (OPT) is a benefit of the F1 visa that allows you to work after graduation. USICS is currently taking 3-4 months to approve OPT applications, so we encourage you to apply EARLY!

While waiting for an appointment, please wathc the webinar and view the presentation by clicking the buttons below. Most of your questions will be answered in those sources. If you are ready, you can start your OPT request via the ISSS portal.

Winter Break Traveling!

Winter break is December 9, 2022-January 3, 2023. If you are planning to travel out of the US (including going on a cruise!) you will need to submit a travel request via the ISSS portal.

**Full Year Exchange Students, please bring your DS2019 for Dee to sign during Walk In hours.**

Congratulations to those who will be walking in December! We're so veyr proud of you!! If you would like to have your family visit and need to get invitation letters to help with their visa, please request them in the ISSS portal.

**Please make sure to hold onto ALL of your I20s and important documents! Due to regulations, we only hold onto records for 3 years after you graduate.**

Spring 2023 Registration!

Make sure that you have submitted your "Lift IPC Hold" Request so that you are able to register on time.

Please note: for Spring 2023, the US goverment is going back to precovid regulations. This means for graduates, 9 credits is full time (6 must be face to face) and undergraduates, 12 credits is full time (9 must be face to face). Make sure you are working with your academic advisor to stay compliant for the spring semester, and meet with your DSO if you have questions.

Voting is now open for the Photo Contest! The categories this year are: Road Trip USA, Capturing Culture, Home Away from Home, and As Far As the Eye Can Sea.

Winners will be announced during Opening Ceremonies on Nov. 14.

Jackson Library has re-opened its Family Study Room space for the first time since 2020! The room is meant to be used by any UNCG student, staff, or faculty member who is visiting the library accompanied by children. The room is free to use and has age-appropriate toys, books, games.
