Join us for UNCG's inaugural Global Symposium 2025!

Dear colleagues and partners,

The Global Engagement Office is happy to announce the inaugural Global Symposium 2025 to be held on April 4!

This new event is a collaboration between GEO and faculty and staff partners from across campus. It is an opportunity for faculty, staff, and students to connect with like-minded global citizens, to share your global work, and to be recognized for your contributions to creating high impact global learning opportunities for everyone at UNCG.

We invite you to participate by presenting your work, nominating a colleague or a student for a global excellence award, and/or showing up to learn how to get involved. Proposals and nominations are due by March 1.

We are delighted to share three UNCG Study Abroad Alumni applied for a Fulbright Student Award in October 2024 (2025 application cycle) and were chosen as semi-finalists! They have been recommended to move to the next level of review in the countries they applied. Fulbright Student Awards are very competitive and this a great accomplishment.

GEO is proud to announce this year's NC Global Leadership scholarship recipient:

Shelyna Moyer.

Shelyna is a Languages, Literatures, and Cultures major (with a concentration in Spanish Education) and will be studying abroad at the Universidad Católica del Uruguay. 

She is a sophomore and member of UNCG's Alpha Lambda Delta chapter, as well as a McNair Scholar (which emphasizes gaining experience through research).
