Their performance at the Blues Jam is part of their larger, televised tour promoting international tourism in Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama, and will include visits to area cities like Jackson, TN and stops at attractions like the BB King’s Museum, Sun Studio, National Civil Rights Museum, Muscle Shoals Sound Studio, Elvis Presley Birthplace Museum, Ground Zero and additional spots with historical, musical and cultural significance.

“We are overjoyed to welcome Chris and their talented band to perform for lifelong, dedicated fans of the genre,” said Sonia Outlaw-Clark, Executive Director of the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center. “We’re sure he’ll bring an incredible new, international sound and we’re even more excited that he’ll be extending his tour to see more attractions and landmarks that birthed the music of his heroes and influences.”

About Chris Kramer
Chris Kramer is a German blues musician, gifted blues harp player and singer/songwriter from Dortmund, Germany. As a three times winner of the “German Blues Award” (category blues harp 2010, 2012, 2014), his slick harp playing is considered his trademark although Chris also plays guitar and dobro on stage. Chris Kramer’s vinyl record “Chicago Blues” was also honored as the “best album” with the “German Blues Award 2014”.

Chris Kramer is regarded as one of the most important blues harp players in Europe, gaining recognition by his boyhood idols like Pinetop Perkins and Willie “Big Eyes” Smith (both of Muddy Waters Band), who recorded with him. The complete list of artists who joined Chris Kramer in the recording studio appears like a “who-is-who” of rock history: Long John Baldry, Bob Stroger, Jack Bruce, Mel Gaynor (Simple Minds), Colin Hodgkinson, Pete York and many others. He assembled Mick Taylor and Chuck Leavell, both “Rolling Stones” in different periods, for the first time on his 2009 album “Unterwegs” (transl. “on the road”), and piano player Chuck Leavell recalls Chris as, “Oh man, what an amazing harp player!”. “Cream” bass player Jack Bruce called him “Master of the blues harp.” His latest project “Beatbox ‘n’ Blues” finds Chris in a trio with beatboxer Kevin O’Neal and guitarist Sean Athens.  This trio hopes to connect younger audiences to the blues audience.  January will mark their first performance in the United States as they travel with a TV crew filming a documentary on their journey to Memphis for the International Blues Challenge and exploring attractions and the music history along the Americana Music Triangle.
