MLK Week Balloon Release
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. and a nod to UM-Dearborn history, Greek Life asked the campus to share their dreams last Wednesday. Students, faculty and staff gathered by the University Center stage and wrote their hopes on colorful balloons. Greek Life Coordinator Kristen McDonough said the idea came from a photo she found in the campus archives where people put their dreams into balloons and released them.
UM-Dearborn's English Language Proficiency Program (ELPP) recently earned an initial five-year accreditation from the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation. UM-Dearborn is one of only five universities in the state to offer an accredited program.
UM-Dearborn celebrated its community partnerships Friday during the university's Inaugural Engagement Day. The event highlighted the impact these partnerships have on the region and celebrated the university's recent Community Engagement Classification by the Carnegie Foundation.
Mechanical and bio-engineering student Jared Davidson naturally takes a more technical approach to wrestling. It seems to be working—he finished his first semester of competition with a 9-1 record, including a tournament win at the Mott Bear Open.
Applications for the second round of Campus Grants this academic year must be received in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (2066 IAVS Building) by 5 p.m. on Monday, February 16.

MHealthy has launched its annual Rewards program, an opportunity for benefits-eligible faculty and staff to review their health and take action to maintain or improve it. By completing the confidential Staywell health questionnaire individuals will receive a personalized report with recommendations and will earn $50. Then, for successfully completing a qualifying activity individuals can earn another $50.
