Dear Members of the University Community,
We write to update you on the status of instruction, work, and on-campus events that are scheduled to occur on Jan. 22.
We have determined the following:
- On Jan. 22, all instruction will be conducted online in the College and School of Theology due to hazardous sidewalks, stairs, and some roads.
- Employees in the areas of essential operations identified in earlier communications are asked to report to campus for work. Please consult with your supervisor for instructions.
- Exempt staff should work remotely, and non-exempt staff who do not work in essential areas of operation should not report to campus for work. They will be compensated in accordance with their scheduled hours.
- We request that the hosts of any events scheduled for Jan. 22 postpone the events or hold them online.
Our dedicated staff in Facilities Management will focus their efforts tomorrow on clearing stairs and sidewalks. In addition, we are expecting warmer temperatures to assist in clearing iced areas. We expect to have all instruction, work, and events in person, on campus by Tuesday, Jan. 23.
Finally, please heed the earlier announcement from the Sewanee Police Department to refrain from driving, especially on side streets, unless absolutely necessary.
Sincerely,
Scott Wilson
Acting Provost
