Whether you forged new connections at the Sustainability Symposium, cooked up wonton soup at the Hopkins Cooking Series, got a glimpse of the cosmos at Stargazing with Sustainability, or tested your cycling skills on the smoothie bikes at Earth Fest, you were an integral part of making Earth Month a success.
As the academic year winds down, we hope you will continue seeking opportunities to incorporate sustainability practices, learning, and community connections wherever you are — and tell us about them! Reach out to us at sustainability@jhu.edu or fill out our submission form.

Dear Green Guide: I'm moving out of my apartment this term. How can I make it a sustainable process? |
As the end of the academic year comes to a close, colleges across the country face a sharp spike in waste production—some over 200 tons. At moveout, college dumpsters and roadsides are piled with furniture, food, school supplies, bedding, and more. The good news is, a little planning before moveout can save you a whole lot of unnecessary wasted goods and money.
|
|
Even if you’re not moving this term or year, this is a good time to lookout for secondhand goods coming off the university market—and either way, save these resources for the next time you relocate!
