Tisch College Solomont Speaker Series and Tufts School of Medicine Common Book Keynote: Isabel Wilkerson, Author of Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents
On Monday, October 18, at 5:30 p.m., join a conversation with Isabel Wilkerson about her New York Times bestselling book Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents, this year's Common Book for the medical school. Caste explores how our lives are defined by unspoken systems of divisions, linking together case studies in America, India, and Nazi Germany and how those arbitrary hierarchies still divide us today. Wilkerson is the first Black woman to win a Pulitzer Prize and the first African-American to win for individual reporting.

Civic Life Lunch – King Boston: Building Boston's Beloved Community with Imari Paris Jeffries
On Thursday, October 21, at noon, join a conversation with activist, educator, and director of King Boston Imari Paris Jeffries. King Boston is a groundbreaking nonprofit organization working closely with the City of Boston and the Boston Foundation to create a living memorial and programing to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., and Coretta Scott King. Under Paris Jeffries' leadership, King Boston has become a bold experiment aimed at continuing their work through a Center of Economic Justice, research, and innovative community programming.

Academic Reminders
Major Exploration and Declaration Workshop
Monday, October 18, 3–4 p.m. on Zoom. Liberal Arts sophomores are invited to a Major Exploration and Declaration Workshop with the advising deans. Learn more about: finding a major and major advisor, the major declaration process and timeline, and getting started in advance to avoid a registration hold in the spring. The workshop will be recorded for students unable to attend.
Reminder: the deadline to make-up Incompletes from Spring 2021 is Wednesday, October 20.
