Jonnie Rodriguez
Jonnie Rodriguez Hits a Triple Play in Customer Service
Jonnie Rodriguez with the Port of Portland was nominated by three PDX travelers:
"Jonnie! Thank you. You gave me great advice how to get transportation from PDX to the Amtrak station. She took the extra time to help this elderly grandmother traveling with a young girl. Thank you for making our travels a bit smoother."
"Jonnie was so receptive when I called trying to reclaim an heirloom from TSA. I’ve never met someone in customer service with such a big heart, patience, kindness and respect. She has a demeanor that is truly caring, and I just am so thankful for her."
"Jonnie helped me get in contact with my 78-year-old father who had left his phone on airplane mode. Thank you for your patience and understanding during a stressful time. I love PDX and can’t wait to travel there."

What's New with PDX Next: December Forum
B/C Bypass: Due to weather, the B/C closures have been extended through Friday, December 19. Each night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., crews will conduct crane work above Concourse B. During these hours, the B/C bypass will be closed and an alternate exit route will be in place. The exit route will be open to all; however, entry into Concourse B via this route will be limited to Alaska/Horizon, Bags, Inc., and emergency responders.
PDX Next Final Forum: The monthly What’s New with PDX Next series will come to an end after the forum on Tuesday, Dec. 30. With the north and south nodes set to open in the new year, it’s a natural point to wrap up the series, which has been a great way to share project milestones and progress with the airport community. To catch the final forum on Tuesday, Dec. 30, email PDX People Communications for the meeting link before Monday, Dec. 29. After the forums end, we'll still provide updates here and on the digital signage while construction work continues.
Looking for more PDX Next information? We're keeping you in the know on what's new on the PDX People website. Have questions or suggestions about construction? Email hello@pdxnext.com or call the construction hotline at 503.460.4339.

PDX Community Room Scores a New Pinball Game
Have you checked out the PDX Community Room yet? It’s a break space for everyone who works at the airport – and now’s the perfect time to visit! A brand-new pinball machine arrived last week, Tron, So stop by and enjoy a free game. Fun fact: the previous pinball game had around 667 plays per month!
As a reminder, the PDX Community Room is accessible to all airport employees and features vending machines, DIRECTV, comfortable seating, Wi-Fi access, a microwave, computer station, and board games.
You can find the room on lower Concourse D, under Gate D4. There are two routes to access the PDX Community Room – from the D5 freight elevator or from the central waste area (red badge required for this route). There is also signage on lower D to point the way. Learn more about the space and its conduct guidelines.

PDX Honored with Additional Prix Versailles Architecture Award
PDX continues to wow on the world stage! This recognition comes on top of PDX being named to Prix Versailles’ list of “World’s Most Beautiful Airports” earlier this year. Congratulations to all our project partners who united the talents of people across the Pacific Northwest to build our state-of-the-art terminal. Together we created a space that continues to inspire people in every corner of the world with its beauty, inside and out.
Example of a REAL ID
The Oregonian: TSA Will Soon Start Charging a New $45 Fee for Some PDX Air Travelers
Starting Feb. 1, the Transportation Security Administration will start charging $45 to any adult travelers who show up at U.S. airports without a REAL ID, a passport, military identification, or other “acceptable” form of identification. Once travelers pay, they won’t have to pay again while traveling over the next 10 days. For Oregonians, it would be cheaper to get a REAL ID, which costs $30 – find out how to do that on the Oregon Department of Transportation website. Federal officials say the money will help pay for a “modernized alternative identity verification program” that will verify the identities of travelers if they don’t present a TSA-approved form of ID.

Have you looked up lately? The ticket lobby ceiling is really coming along, making PDX look just a bit more polished. At the bottom, work is underway in one of the concessions spaces. Can you tell which one it is from the light fixture logo?
