MentorND: Using the colors of fall to practice mindfulness and goal setting

Are you having trouble navigating your way through the haze and the fog of this season? Maybe it's hard to focus on the goals for your future when the happenings of tomorrow are still so unclear. The Mentoring Committee has a few tips and tricks up our sleeve that we are certain you will find as a treat!
In November, we will explore the colors of fall and relate them to a mindfulness practice that is sure to electrify your senses and get you back on track towards filling your energy buckets and making sure you are prepared each day to do the next right thing (to learn more about these buckets, listen to Craig Groeschel Leadership podcast).
Be on the lookout for an invitation to test your knowledge and spark your creativity in goal-setting exercises with the Mentoring Committee.
For momentum in fulfilling your goals and to connect with others who are trying to navigate through the season of uncertainty, we ask that you update or fill out a profile on MentorND.
If you don't yet have a profile, go to mentor.nd.edu to create one today. This video will show you how. Remember to use your NetID email address when creating your profile. If you do have a profile, log on, and make any updates to your profile, preferences, and notification settings. This brief video reminds you how.

TED Talk: The urgency of intersectionality

Kimberlé Crenshaw

"Now more than ever, it's important to look boldly at the reality of race and gender bias — and understand how the two can combine to create even more harm. Kimberlé Crenshaw uses the term "intersectionality" to describe this phenomenon; as she says, if you're standing in the path of multiple forms of exclusion, you're likely to get hit by both. In this moving talk, she calls on us to bear witness to this reality and speak up for victims of prejudice."
Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw is an American lawyer, civil rights advocate, philosopher, and a leading scholar of critical race theory who developed the theory of intersectionality. She is a full-time professor at the UCLA School of Law and Columbia Law School, where she specializes in race and gender issues.
