SMPA Students, 
I hope you are well and staying healthy. 
As we prepare for our second week of online classes, SMPA is committed to making sure you have the resources and tools you need to succeed. The Rundown will now include some of the latest updates that come out of GW, CCAS, and SMPA. 
We want to hear from you and welcome all ideas, suggestions, and questions.

STUDENT SUPPORT & RESOURCES

PASS/NO PASS REQUEST FORM
For the Spring 2020 semester, CCAS students will have the option to take each of their undergraduate courses as pass/no pass for this semester only
We encourage you to consult with CCAS academic advisors if you wish to use the pass/no pass option in any of your classes.
GW ACADEMIC COMMONS
GW Academic Commons is offering tutoring for STEM and non-STEM courses online. They are putting together a comprehensive website that will provide tips and resources which will be available soon.
Peer tutoring and course review sessions in Academic Commons and throughout GW will be online during the virtual learning period.

GW's WRITING CENTER
GW's Writing Center is offering 50-minute zoom tutoring sessions. CCAS POD advisers are also holding office hours.
THE GW CARES STUDENT ASSISTANCE FUND
GW and SMPA are committed to being there for students during this time of uncertainty and disruption to daily life. SMPA undergraduate and graduate students who may be facing financial hardships, please use The GW Cares Student Assistance Fund as a resource.
GW COLONIAL HEALTH CENTER
Harvard Business Review wrote an article on the discomfort we are all feeling right now and how we can manage it. It is imperative to remember that your physical and mental health are important. Remember to take walks, exercise, start a new project, connect with friends and family on Facetime or Zoom.

GW Today interviewed Natalie Milman, professor of educational technology and director of the Educational Technology Leadership Program at the Graduate School of Education and Human Development on his advice for students and faculty in taking on the challenges of online learning.

Janet Steele was interviewed by VOA Indonesia on the press situation there, and on press freedom in the region, including Malaysia.
Emmy Award-winner & SMPA professor Nina Gilden Seavey and Academy Award-winner Olympia Dukakis’s A PARALYZING FEAR: THE STORY OF POLIO IN AMERICA is a historical lesson for our coronavirus world. Paralyzing Fear is now streaming this film free of charge.
SMPA National Council Member A'Lelia Bundles' new series Self Made about her great-great-grandmother Madame C.J.Walker based on her originally published book "On Her Own Grounds" will be re-released on 3/24 as Self Made.
Steve Roberts and his former student Ted Segal, B.A. ’03, and his wife, Meredith Segal, B.Accy. ’05, worked together to establish the Roberts & Segal Fund for Food Security endowment, with an initial commitment totaling $200,000 for The Store.
