To apply for Journalism and Mass Communication Honors, graduating seniors must have a minimum 3.7 GPA and a portfolio of published work. A short letter to faculty should outline applicable achievements and career goals.

Jason Rezaian, a former SMPA Terker Distinguished Fellow, will discuss his new book, “Prisoner,” with Frank Sesno on Jan. 23, 2019 at 7 p.m. in the Dorothy Betts Marvin Theatre.

Students were awarded over $150,000 in SMPA scholarships during the 2017 – 2018 school year.

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT
Joanna Rodriguez, B.A. '14 and MPS '15, began a new job as communications director for Rep. Michael Waltz (FL-6). Previously, Rodriguez was the communications director for former Rep. Carlos Curbelo and served in a variety of other communications roles in the House of Representatives, the Senate and on campaigns. 
Emily Carlin, B.A. '17 and M.A. '19, started as the communications director for Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (OH-16). Carlin has worked for several members of the House of Representatives since graduation. While at GW, Carlin interned for Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH), the NRCC and on John Kasich's 2016 primary campaign.
