Applications are now open for Student Health and Counseling Services' 2023-2024 Peer Health Educator (PHE) internship and Peer Counselors (PC) program. All majors welcome!
PHEs actively promote health and wellness at Sac State through presentations, workshops, one-on-one health education, and special events. The PHE program is a year-long academic and hands-on learning program, providing an opportunity to build leadership, communication, and program planning skills while promoting Hornet Wellness and having fun.
Peer Counselors serve as an additional resource to promote safety and well-being. PCs are trained student leaders who are supportive, helpful listeners and problem solvers who offer a non-judgment and confidential space to discuss any concerns. The Peer Counselor program is a year-long program that provides training in basic counseling skills by licensed professionals, education in diversity, inclusion, mental health, and wellness. The program provides an opportunity to work with diverse populations in a sensitive and empowering way and opportunity to grow and learn with a small group of peers.
