Students Describe Tufts in One Word |
|
| Start Your New Student Checklist |
You have a few responsibilities over the summer, and many of them can be completed online. We've just posted your customized New Student Checklist 2025 and have opened the Housing Survey for all students, as well as registration for Pre-Orientation!
Your New Student Checklist can be accessed on your Application Status page.
We encourage you to review each item on your New Student Checklist 2025 now so you can make plans and keep up with requirements. To help you manage this process, various checklist items are available now, while others will be introduced in the coming weeks. Most items have a stated completion deadline.
None of the items are first come, first served. This means that, while we highly encourage you to complete each item as soon as it becomes available, there is no advantage in doing so. Everyone who completes the item before the deadline begins the process from the same starting point. However, you do need to meet the deadlines!
Your checklist is color-coded. You still need to complete those with a red "X" mark; a green checkmark means you have finished that item. Please allow three business days for red marks to turn green once you have completed any given task!
If you're currently short on time, make sure you at least get to work on these two items:
|
-
Set up your Tufts email, student ID number, and username: Your very first step should be to secure your Tufts email, student ID number, and username, if you haven't done so already. You'll use these for many important tasks over the summer and while you're enrolled at Tufts. We will send all official University communications exclusively to your @tufts.edu address starting June 10, so it's important to get your email set up and check it on a regular basis!
-
Complete the Housing Survey: The Housing Survey opened earlier and will also appear on your New Student Checklist 2025. Be sure to complete the survey by Friday, June 20. You'll need to log into your SIS account, then choose "Housing" on the bottom of the "About Me" tab. As explained in the May 13 email, there are about 10-15 lifestyle questions on the Housing Survey that are used to match roommates.

Pre-Orientation programs are a great way to ease into college by connecting with other incoming students and learning more about the Tufts experience from returning student leaders, all before Orientation officially begins. Participating in Pre-Orientation is optional, and there is a fee required for participation.
The participation fee is $550 and the application deadline is June 16. The eight optional Pre-Orientation programs will take place in-person. All Pre-O participants will move into their residence halls on Friday, August 22. (This will be your room assignment for the year. You won’t have to move twice!)
You can register for a Pre-Orientation program today via your New Student Checklist. The deadline to register for a program is June 16. Program placement will be sent to you later in June and final confirmation and payment will be due in July. Updated information on all programs will be communicated over the summer and posted on the Pre-Orientation web page.
