Fall commencement 2014
UM-Dearborn conferred nearly 800 degrees Saturday, including 561 bachelor’s, 207 master’s and four doctoral degrees. Andra Rush reminded COB, CEHHS and CECS graduates that we are defined by the actions we take, and William Taubman encouraged CASL graduates to embrace technology while continuing to connect with others on a personal level.
University of Michigan-Dearborn recognized five students as Chancellor’s Medallion recipients for their academic achievements, character, intellect and integrity.
Kyle Milliman graduated Saturday with a dual degree in engineering mathematics and mechanical engineering—and a lifetime of memories from his time with the Michigan Marching Band.
Register for Active U’s 10th year now through January 13. The 12-week physical activity challenge is open to all university faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students, retirees and employee spouses/other qualified adults (OQA).

Open campus forum with President Schlissel scheduled
University of Michigan President Mark Schlissel will visit UM-Dearborn Thursday, January 8, 2015. His visit will include an open campus forum for faculty, staff and students, that will include a discussion regarding the needs and opportunities facing University of Michigan-Dearborn in the next several years. The forum will take place 3:45-4:30 p.m. in the Borg-Warner Auditorium, Institute for Advanced Vehicle Systems Building. 

In our sixth year of identifying UM-Dearborn student Difference Makers, faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, integrity, leadership and/or creativity. Nominations are open through January 31, 2015, and winners will be announced in March.
