Dear Graduate,
Congratulations to the Class of 2021! Here's what's coming up for the week ahead, including this Wednesday's virtual Commencement.
| |
What to Expect- What is the virtual Commencement? The virtual Commencement is an online tribute to our graduating students on Wednesday, May 19 at 11:00 a.m. (ET). It does not replace the in-person Commencement, which is postponed and will be rescheduled. A ceremony countdown will begin at 10:45 a.m. (ET).
- What will happen during the virtual Commencement? The ceremony will feature remarks from graduating students, university leadership, and special guests. It will conclude with the official conferral of degrees by President Hamilton.
- How long is it? The virtual Commencement will last about one hour.
- How will I watch it? Visit the Commencement website to watch the broadcast on May 19. No RSVP, registration, or log-in is required. Share the link with family and friends! You can also view - and chat - on NYU's YouTube channel.
- What do I wear? We hope you'll wear your cap, tassel, and attire, if you have them – but whatever feels right to you and gets you in the spirit. The viewing audience will not be on camera. (If you’ve registered for the Zoom watch party, you might be briefly on-screen.)
- Will my name be read? Individual names are not read at the All-University ceremony. Individualized recognitions will take place at the school and/or department graduation celebrations.
- Can I watch it later? Yes! An archive video will remain available to view on the Commencement website.
