2015 Alumni Day
More than 80 UM-Dearborn alumni and students came together Saturday, April 18, for a morning of reconnecting, networking and learning at Alumni Day 2015. Participants attended a selection of 13 seminars taught by prominent community leaders, faculty and staff. As a final highlight, three UM-Dearborn student music groups performed during lunch.
University of Michigan-Dearborn once again has been recognized for its commitment to community engagement. Michigan Campus Compact (MiCC) has selected the university as Michigan’s 2015 Engaged Campus of the Year. 
Wayne County will begin reconstruction of the Evergreen Road Bridge near Michigan Avenue next week. Effective April 27, Evergreen Road southbound lanes will be closed from just north of Fairlane Drive to past the end of the bridge at the Rouge River prior to Michigan Avenue.
Michigan Journal editor Ricky Lindsay has been honored as one of the best college journalists in Michigan. He is the first-ever UM-Dearborn student to receive the Lawrence A. Laurain Scholarship from the Detroit Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
When Mariah Mallett audits her undergraduate accomplishments and her goals for the future, everything balances. The accounting and finance major, who will graduate Sunday, has a tax staff position lined up at Plante Moran, where she just finished an internship.
Ray Lynem knew from a young age that he wanted to work in the health field to have a positive impact on others during some of their most vulnerable times. Now the health policy studies student is gearing up for graduation and will attend U-M Ann Arbor in the fall to earn a Master of Health Services Administration degree.
The UM-Dearborn community generously gave during the annual Faculty and Staff Campaign, with 170 active faculty and staff members contributing more than $173,000. The gifts allocated toward a specific college, unit, department, program or scholarship play an important role in the success of our students.
