Damiano Zanotto, PI and ME Associate Professor, received an NIH award of $967K for his project “Establishing Walking-related Digital Biomarkers in Rare Childhood Onset Progressive Neuromuscular Disorders” (with Columbia University as prime of a $2.07M R01 grant).

Matthew Libera, PI and CEMS Professor (pictured), and Hongjun Wang, Co-PI, CHI Director and BME Professor, received an NSF award of $795K for their project “Collaborative Research: GCR: Infection-Resisting Resorbable Scaffolds for Engineering Human Tissue.” This is part of a Stevens-led $2.4M multi-institutional team including Binghamton University, City College of New York, Syracuse University, and UPenn Veterinary School.

Zhuo Feng, PI and ECE Professor, received an NSF award of $600K for his project “High-Performance Incremental Spectral Algorithms for Efficient Modeling and Simulation of Large-Scale Integrated Circuits.”

Shucheng Yu, PI and ECE Associate Professor (pictured), and Min Song, Co-PI, ECE Chair and Professor, received an NSF award of $238K for their project “Exploring Cybersecurity and Privacy Enhancement Techniques for AIoT.” In addition, Yu received an NSF award of $150K for his project “O-RAN-Based Cyberinfrastructure Training for Future-Generation Wireless Communication and Sensing.”

Yu Gan, PI and BME Assistant Professor, received a Scialog award of $66K for his project “Closed-loop Hypothesis Generation for Automated Chemical Synthesis.” He also received an NIH award of $17K for his project “Re-examining Links Between Screen Time, Health Behaviors, and Executive Functioning: Validating an Objective Measure of Screen Exposure in a Sample of Young Children” (with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as prime).

Jalen Bailey, Grace Fukazawa, Maggie Gibson and Brandon Sems won the $15K Venture Prize in the 2024 DEBUT Challenge for their project "Knee-sy Does It: Your Therapy Automation Solution." The team will be honored at the 2024 BMES Annual Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland on October 25.
