Tim Dotson, Sophia Mosher, Jamie Pitt, and Amy Rush presented at the 2024 Association of Standardized Patient Educators (ASPE) conference! This international organization of educators is dedicated to human simulation through promoting best practices in the application of SP methodology for education, assessment, and research. The 2024 ASPE Annual Conference provided a space where a community of simulation educators, researchers, creators, and practitioners could share their practice of turning visions into reality through human simulation. The list of topics presented by CHIPS at the conference included: "IPE Deconstructed Small Group - Collecting a Sexual Health History with a Simulated Patient", "Making a Splash with Water Birth Simulation for Nurse Midwifery!", "Cultural Humility Training with a Simulated Therapy Client: a Deconstructed Group Simulation", "Standardized Patient (SP) Compensation Analysis and Increase Justification Toolkit", "A Look at LGBTQIA+ SP Perspectives About Cultural Visibility, Professional Opportunities, and Workload", "Foundations of SP Methodology Part I: Constructing Your SP Community", and "The Secret to Authentic Leadership by Leading with your Heart and Mind".
Jarrod Young, MBA, BSE, CHSOS-A, FSSH, Director ofOperations/Technology and Business Development at CHIPS, was appointed to a one-year term as an At-Large Member of the Board of Directors for the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH). As a society, SSH serves the global community of healthcare simulation by promoting an enhanced quality of healthcare. As a member of the Board of Directors, Jarrod is charged to represent the membership of SSH and help shape the future of simulation by aligning current outcomes with the mission, vision, and strategic plan of SSH. Based on his commitment and efforts within other leadership roles in SSH, Jarrod was appointed to the Board of Directors by the President ofSSH.
