Podcast: Children’s Minnesota experts discuss pediatric neurointerventional care |
Two kid experts recently joined the Becker’s Healthcare Pediatric Leadership Podcast to discuss the latest advances in pediatric neurointerventional care at Children’s Minnesota. Meysam Kebriaei, MD, medical director of neurosciences, and Collin Torok, MD, medical director of neurointerventional surgery and co-director of the cerebrovascular program with Dr. Kebriaei, spoke about the launch of the region’s first pediatric neurointerventional angiography suite at Children’s Minnesota, the result of more than five years of planning, multidisciplinary collaboration, and creative partnerships.
The new suite enables comprehensive, all-in-one care at one site instead of transferring patients for interventional procedures. “Our goal is to be a regional referral center for our patients and families in the community,” said Dr. Kebriaei.

Dr. Torok and Dr. Kebriaei explained the value of multidisciplinary care, aligning with community needs to define clear goals, and thinking creatively about partnerships. “It is well-established in medicine that multidisciplinary care leads to superior outcomes and patient experiences. We view this as a cornerstone in creating one of the nation's few programs of its kind,” said Dr. Torok.
