$5 Million Gift for Scholarships
|
CTY received a $5 million gift to establish the U.P. Sircar Family Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund. The fund will provide financial aid to students from under-resourced communities to participate in CTY programs. The U.P. Sircar Family Foundation’s goal for the fund is to help alleviate financial barriers and provide access to advanced learning, student support tools, and experiences that under-resourced students need to become tomorrow’s leaders. This gift is CTY’s largest gift since its founding in 1979.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Giving Tuesday campaign and helped CTY raise $6,730 to support new and existing initiatives and areas of immediate need. By choosing CTY, you are helping to develop the next generation of thinkers, dreamers, and doers.
“I believe that by supporting the CTY Impact Fund, I, and my fellow alumni, have a unique ability to help share the same opportunities for growth, education, and personal development we were so fortunate to experience, with as many kids as possible.” - Britt Power, CTY alum ’87-’89

Asraiel Harewood (pictured left), former CTY Scholars educational advisor and current employee in the admissions office at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), recently reconnected with Arly Bencosme (pictured right), a CTY Scholars alum and first-year student at CMU. Continuing to build on their relationship from the CTY Scholars program, Asraiel is now helping to support Arly as she navigates her first year of college.

| | Throughout the year, CTY receives messages from students expressing appreciation for the generosity of CTY donors. Two young CTYers shared this artwork and quote:
“I am a seventh grader with an intrinsic love of learning. It’s difficult to access the courses I need to keep moving forward in my studies through school alone. When I had the opportunity to take courses through CTY, I jumped at the chance. Not only do CTY courses meet my educational goals, but also I am able to develop relationships with other students who share my interests and with whom I can be myself.”

Your gift to CTY can help provide a rewarding and challenging academic experience to qualified bright learners from diverse backgrounds.
