The Office of Scholar Development will be holding two information sessions for students interested in applying for the Summer Scholars program this year. The first information session will be held on Monday, January 22, at 4 p.m. via Zoom. The second information session will be held on Friday, January 26, at 12 noon in Campus Center Room 203.

Fellowship Application Drop-in Hours |
The Office of Scholar Development will be hosting weekly drop-in hours this semester for students applying for fellowships and awards like Summer Scholars, Humanities in Action, Fulbright, and other awards. Come meet with us and get feedback on writing materials and more information about specific awards and fellowships. | Exhibition Opening Reception at TUAG |
Celebrate TUAG's spring 2024 exhibition "Kenneth Tam: Standing in Soft Formation" with food and drink on Wednesday, January 24, at 6–8 p.m. at Aidekman Arts Center. The exhibition features the artist's most recent projects, shown in dialogue for the first time, which explore historical and present-day tropes of Anglo-American masculinity and their impact on Asian American identities.

Hacking the Climate Crisis: Environmental Hackathon |
On Thursday, January 25, at 12 noon–1 p.m., the Hoch Cunningham Environmental Lecture will feature Sanjana Paul. She is the co-founder and executive director of Earth Hacks, an environmental hackathon organization, and is currently a graduate student in environmental policy and planning at MIT. She has worked on projects ranging from atmospheric science software engineering to passing building decarbonization policy at the municipal level.

Egghead and Twinkie: Film Screening |
Egghead and Twinkie is a coming-of-age comedy about coming out of the closet. It follows an Asian American teenage girl who takes off on a cross-country road trip to meet her online crush with the help of her nerdy best friend. Produced on a micro-budget by a team of young tenacious filmmakers, Egghead and Twinkie is a movie created "by and for Gen Z" with a message straight from the heart. This screening on Thursday, January 25, at 7 p.m. is free and open to the community.

Meet the Career Fellows Information Session |
On Friday, January 26, at 12 noon in Dowling Hall Milmore Room, meet the Career Fellows working in the main Tufts Career Center! Career Fellows act as ambassadors for the Career Center and promote the mission, vision, and services of the Career Center. They also increase access to and awareness of career resources, provide guidance and support to their peers, and develop, plan, and execute events across campus.

| Prepare for Spring 2024 Career Fairs |
This spring semester, we will host two Career Fairs—one virtual, one in-person—for students to explore and connect with organizations across a variety of industries. All Tufts students from any major are encouraged to attend—first-year through graduate students. On Friday, January 26, at 1 p.m., this session will teach you how best to prepare for a career fair. We will provide tips for both our virtual Biotech and Life Sciences career fair (February 1) and Tufts in-person Spring Career Fair (February 9).

The StAAR Center has a great writing workshop coming up this week! Join us for "Senior Writers Accountability Group Write-In" on Saturday, January 27, at 10 a.m.–1 p.m. in the Tisch Library Room 223. If you have questions, contact the StAAR Center at StAARCenter@Tufts.edu.

Apply for Sustainable Special Interest Housing! |
Calling all rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors interested in living in a sustainable community! Want to skip the hassle of finding off-campus housing? Apply to join the HIVE and the Green House on the Medford/Somerville campus, where you can live with housemates who share an interest in pursuing sustainability and housing amenities like single bedrooms and full kitchens. Applications are due on Tuesday, January 23.

Wednesday, January 24, at 11:59 p.m. is the deadline to ADD a class.

- Consult with the instructor if you are adding a class without having attended to ensure you can catch up on any missed work.
- Enroll and attend a backup course if you are below 12 credits.
- Getting instructor permission or being added to the Canvas site does not enroll you. You must enroll in SIS.

If you are granted permission to enroll, remove the course from your cart, then re-add it and enroll.
- Verify your enrollment on your unofficial transcript.
- Reminder: the major declaration deadline for first-year engineers is February 15.

| Sustainability Funding Application Due Next Monday |
Do you have an idea to make campus more sustainable? The Green Fund provides funding for campus sustainability projects from and for the Tufts community. Recent projects include solar panel installation, sustainability-focused symposium, and a citizen science program. Students from all of Tufts' campuses are eligible and encouraged to apply. Applications for spring 2024 funding are due on January 29 at 9 a.m.

Seniors...run now! This is your final chance to have your senior portrait taken to be in the portrait section of the 2024 Senior Memory Book. To register for your free portrait sitting please visit the Legacy Studios website and enter Tufts University. Sittings will take place in the Mayer Campus Center Room 112.

StAAR Center Hiring Peer Tutors and Writing Fellows |
The StAAR Center is hiring Peer Tutors and Writing Fellows for the 2024–2025 academic year! These positions are paid peer tutors who work with Tufts students. There are no GPA or letter grade requirements to apply, and all majors are welcome. Applications due February 11.

Announcing Global Tufts Month, March 1 through March 31! Event Funding Available |
The Office of the Provost invites the Tufts community to host and attend events related to this year's Global Tufts Month theme, Humanitarian Aid: Working Together in Times of Conflict. These events aim to foster cross-boundary dialogue and learning, transcending national and cultural barriers, and can range from lectures and film showings to cultural events and social programs. Mini-grants up to $500 are available for event funding. Submit by February 4!
