Because of social media and reality TV, cultural paradigms about beauty and self-maintenance are changing more rapidly than in the past. I'm witnessing this first-hand at the office as I continue to get younger patients all the time.
Generation X (born in the 60's & 70's) and Generation Y (aka "Millenials", born in the 80's & 90's) see my procedures as part of routine maintenance, much like hair coloring for the Baby Boomers in the 1970's.
Everyone is realizing what I have stressed all along, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". That is, at the very first sign of a new aging issue, start having it treated, so it never worsens. Looking "ageless" over one's entire adult life is a reasonable goal that I'm pursuing, both for myself and my patients.
But in times of intense physical upheaval, such as pregnancy, how do you "bounce back" to your former skin and body? We're seeing through social media that Hollywood moms come out of pregnancy looking better than ever. How do they do it? Can we really finally "HAVE IT ALL"??
