PDX People Honored at Customer Service Awards
PDX People pride themselves on making our airport is a welcoming place for travelers. But sometimes travel plans go awry, car batteries die, boarding passes are lost, and once-in-a-lifetime storms roll around. Thankfully, the warm, friendly faces of airport employees are all it takes to save the day for visitors and fellow employees alike.
To recognize actions that truly stand out as extraordinary and support our core values – being friendly, knowledgeable and respectful – we host the PDX People customer service awards each quarter. Read the stories of the airport employees honored from January through March 2023 or watch the event recording.

What's New with PDX Next: April Forum Review
In case you missed it, last week’s PDX Next forum covered the latest construction updates and a sneak peek at what’s coming. One exciting project: the existing ticket lobby roof removal. You know about the new wood roof, which currently stretches over the existing roof in the ticket lobby. Workers will be connecting the two, which involves a bit of demolition. Stay tuned for updates on that process.
Also notable were some in-progress photos and updates on the western expansion. Current work includes asphalt roofing, metal deck installation and concrete pouring. On the left, you'll see the metal deck on top and on the right is the enplaning level and what will be the new mezzanine and seating area.
Want to join the next forum? Email PDX People Communications before Tuesday, May 30, for the meeting link. We're also keeping you in the know on what's new on the PDX People website. Have questions or suggestions about construction? Email hello@pdxnext.com or call the construction hotline at 503.460.4339.

Mo's Recognized with Dean's Award
PDX's favorite chowder spot, Mo’s Seafood and Chowder, will receive the Dean’s Award for Family Business Leadership at the Oregon State University College of Business’ 2023 Excellence in Family Business Awards ceremony. Mo's is family-owned, was founded in 1946 in Newport, and has four Oregon locations including one on Concourse C at PDX. Mo’s has grown from a single waterfront restaurant to a business that produces more than 500,000 pounds of clam chowder a year – some shipped to grocery stores and customers, and the rest delivered to Mo’s restaurant locations.

Last week, we held the spring clean-up on the south side of the airport. If you missed it, there's no time to waste make your way to the north side spring clean-up event on Tuesday, May 2. At this twice-annual activity, airport businesses can drop off unwanted, large or bulky items for the folks on the PDX waste minimization team to reuse or recycle.
