Zach Johnson and Tanner Love
Zach Johnson and Tanner Love are Wired to Provide Outstanding Assistance
Zach Johnson and Tanner Love with Oregon Electrical Group were nominated by a PDX employee:
"Tanner Love and Zach Johnson were working in the south tunnel when they heard screams. They rushed over and saw an elderly gentleman who had fallen on the escalator and was tumbling near the top. The passenger’s sister and another traveler ran to assist, while Tanner and Zach secured the luggage that had slid to the bottom.
They helped the injured man into a wheelchair, and Tanner immediately contacted the Communication Center to dispatch EMS. While Tanner was on the phone, Zach met the EMS outside and guided them to the scene.
Thanks to Tanner and Zach’s calm, quick actions, the gentleman received emergency care as fast as possible."

What's New with PDX Next: Door Access and Concessions Updates
Baggage Claim: As you know, there were several changes to door access last week.  There is an update, after a safety review, the restricted use of door T1860, between carousels 6 and 7, is amended to allow all red badgeholders to use this door to enter and leave the secure area. To avoid creating a safety hazard in the baggage tunnel, do not line up for the door in a way that blocks the drive lanes. This door may be restricted in the future if safety analysis determines such a restriction is warranted.

Interfaith prayer room at PDX
Be Knowledgeable: PDX Interfaith Prayer Room
Did you know that we have an Interfaith Prayer Room at PDX? The room is on the mezzanine, at the end of the hallway north of the Lost and Found office. The door is always unlocked, but there is a keypad on the door that isn’t currently in use.
As always, being respectful is a PDX People core value, which includes your actions toward other airport workers and shared spaces. With that in mind, please note a few guidelines for the room:
  • Please be respectful of all occupants.
  • Enter and exit in a quiet and peaceful manner.
  • Reserve all conversation for outside this space.
  • Food and beverages are prohibited.
  • Do not leave personal belongings in this space.

PDX Lifesavers AED/CPR Class in April
Imagine for a moment that you encounter a medical emergency – at home, at work, or on the go. Would you know how to help?
If not, build your confidence and skills with a CPR/AED class on Monday, April 6, led by Portland Airport Fire and Rescue experts. Can’t make the class or found out it's already full? Even if you’re not trained in CPR, anyone can use an AED – just follow the simple audio and visual commands on the machine.
Llamas in from of PDX
USA Today: These Therapy Llamas at Portland Airport are Going Viral
You know them, you love them, you've probably fed them carrots...they're the llamas and alpacas that visit PDX. And now they're making headlines! These calming camelids come to us courtesy of a local nonprofit, Mtn Peaks Therapy Llamas & Alpacas. The therapy animals, known for their gentle nature, are part of PDX's official animal therapy program. The program aims to de-stress passengers, especially those traveling for difficult reasons.
PDX in Pictures
Are they just in it for the plot? The reality is that the helpful ABM team is in it for the travelers. These friendly folks in blue coats are here to help through every detour, route change or to just help point the way. If you work at PDX, chances are you've waved to these guys at least once!
