Work crews are currently replacing the steps and portions of the sidewalk in front of the Pecan Plantation Clubhouse. Over time, the tread plates on the steps had begun breaking loose, creating uneven and potentially unsafe walking surfaces. Additionally, the sidewalk between the curb and the steps was cracking. During this repair period, the front doors to the clubhouse will be closed and inaccessible to foot traffic. The front traffic circle will also be closed. During construction, members and guests will need to utilize the entrances on the sides of the clubhouse. The project should be completed next week, weather permitting.

This week, Executive Chef Jordan Ray is rolling out his fall menu and it features several new appetizers, salads, entrees and more.
While the menu still includes classics like fantastic steaks and seafood offerings, it does include some new dishes destined to become club favorites.
One amazing app on the new menu is Ray's Cajun Egg Rolls. One thing is for certain, the chef is an egg roll wizard. This time, he has filled the roll with crawfish, dirty rice and sausage. The rolls are fried until golden brown then served with a fantastic etouffee sauce.
A new entree which will certainly whet your appetite is his Chicken Fried Short Ribs and Grits. Ray starts by cooking some big ol' short ribs to a perfect medium rare then he fries them up. These tender cuts of beef are topped with a savory demi glace and served over a helping of buttery cheddar jalapeno grits. This dish comes with green beans on the side.
The chef is also debuting a new pasta dinner for the season. His Prime Rib Rigatoni features tender, shaved prime rib cooked with onions, portabella mushrooms and cherry tomatoes. The meat and veggies are then tossed onto a bed of rigatoni pasta and topped with a creamy port wine sauce.
Additional new dishes include Bang Bang Shrimp Skewers, Lump Crab Stuffed Portabella mushroom, Orange Ginger Salmon Salad and Boudin Stuff Pork Chops (both seen here), and there's more!
To view the new menu, click HERE.
Since there will be no PECANews Sept. 19 or 26, please call the front desk at 817-573-2641 to find out what wonderful specials Chef Ray is preparing just for you. And while your on the phone, go ahead and make your reservations. You won't regret it!
