Brad Day to Lead Research and Innovation Initiatives
Brad Day will join the Office of Research, Innovation, and Economic Development as associate vice chancellor for research and innovation initiatives beginning November 1. Day, a UT alumnus and Knoxville native, currently serves as the Foundation Professor of plant, soil, and microbial sciences at Michigan State University.

Faculty in the Department of Nuclear Engineering have received $3.2 million in awards from the Department of Energy. This funding is part of the Nuclear Energy University Program, which supports research and development of innovative nuclear technologies and solutions.
University of Tennessee students exhibited creativity designing floating wetlands
UT is helping to address some of the main concerns about 5G technology and what it could mean to users. An agreement with communications giant AT&T will establish a 5G+ presence on campus, including a test bed designed to research ways of enhancing the 5G user experience.

Does messaging impact public opinion? A multidisciplinary research team from UT partnered with Dave’s Killer Bread to investigate how marketing messages about a fresh start might improve public attitudes toward individuals with a criminal background.
