As you prepare for college this summer, here are some tips to help you be ready for the start of the Fall 2019 semester:
  • Start planning your daily schedule and managing your time. When will you be in class? When will you do school work? What about eating and exercise? Planning your day will give you a sense of control as you start your college journey.
  • Are you thinking about getting a job on campus? If so, you can research and apply for jobs now on the Student Employment Website.
  • Read the 2019 First-Year Summer Reading Program book, “One Size Fits None: A Farm Girl's Search for the Promise of Regenerative Agriculture,” so you’re ready to participate in group discussions in August.
Your Miami Student ID
When you attended orientation in June, you received your Miami student ID. As you prepare to come to campus, be sure to bring your student ID; you'll need it every day. If you will attend orientation in August, please visit the Campus Services Center  in the Campus Avenue Building, room 034 to pick up your ID.
Student IDs are used for:
  • residence hall key
  • access to the Commuter Center
  • meal plan
  • rec center pass
  • MUlaa debit account
  • campus event attendance
  • admission to varsity athletic events
  • library card
  • BCRTA bus pass
To make the most of your student ID, check out the following smartphone apps:
  • Mobile ID: This app will allow you to use your smartphone to access your residence hall room -- just in case you don't have your ID with you. This app might be familiar to you as you likely used it to access your room at orientation.
  • GET Miami: Want to order food on campus ahead of time? With GET, you can place mobile food orders at specific dining locations, check your meal balance, see menus and hours of operation, and check your recent transactions.
Haven't received your student ID yet? Visit the Campus Services Center Office in room 034 of the Campus Avenue Building when you arrive on campus.
