Dear Student,
Late night dining on Friday and Saturday nights (at Commons Marketplace between 9 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.) has been a great addition to weekend offerings. However, last weekend large numbers of students didn’t wear masks while getting food and while seated, even though they were not actively eating.
Our dining staff has worked very hard to support our community throughout this pandemic. When you do not wear your mask, it creates an unacceptable risk and makes them very uncomfortable.
Please help us reset the late-night dining culture, and wear your masks at all times, while getting your food or sitting with friends, unless you are actually eating. If we can’t make the space safer for everyone, including our dining staff, then we will have to switch the service to grab and go (with no seating available) or discontinue it altogether. We would much rather keep the option as it is now, so please do your part to keep it going.
With appreciation,
Camille Lizarríbar, JD, PhD
Dean of Student Affairs and Chief Student Affairs Officer for AS&E
P.S. The dining team asks you to have your own, original QR code ready when you step to the window. This will make service move faster.
