Hi everyone! My name is Zachary Hahn. I am a senior NSBH major in the College of Science from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. I spend my time as a part of Dr. Brockmole’s Visual Cognition Lab, volunteering at Beacon Children’s Hospital, and am a part of the NSBH Senior Leadership Committee. When I am not studying or working on med school applications, I enjoy being a part of the club running and curling teams, hiking, working at the basilica, going to ND sporting events (particularly hockey games), and hanging out with friends.
One of the highlights of my time here at Notre Dame was my semester abroad in Galway, Ireland. The Galway program was great for me as a pre-med student because I was able to take multiple science classes, attend grand surgical rounds with the Irish medical students, and still have time to go on trips almost every weekend. One of the unique features of the Galway program is the biweekly field trips with a retired Irish archeologist which brought us from pilgrimage sites on mountains to the underground caves that are believed to be the homes of fairies. I was also able to visit Iceland, Switzerland, and Portugal while I was abroad. Both of these pictures come from when I was abroad, one being in front of the fairy cave in Ireland and the other being on the Vatnajökull glacier in Iceland.
