Dear Student,
Spring 2022 courses will be available through the SIS class search for all students, and in the Schedule Builder for undergraduate students, on November 1, 2021. Registration for Spring 2022 courses will begin Wednesday, November 17, and will remain open for changes through the Spring 2022 add deadline.
Students will be able to view their registration date and time on November 1 in SIS by selecting "Classes" and then "My Enrollment Dates" from the navigation menu. Additionally, the full schedule of registration days is available on the Academic Calendar and outlined below. There is a larger than average group of students scheduled on November 18. These appointments will be spread throughout the day, and appointment start times for some groups will begin later than they have historically. Undergraduate students can review how class standing is determined.
Beginning November 1, you may add courses to your shopping cart. Make sure to validate the courses in your cart. The validation process helps you prepare for registration by identifying courses that are unavailable for enrollment due to enrollment requirements you do not meet or time conflicts. Please note, successfully validating the courses in the shopping cart does NOT guarantee registration in the course, as conflicts may arise between validation and registration. Spring Intent
The School of Arts and Sciences (including the School of the Museum of Fine Arts) and the School of Engineering continue their commitment to offering most academic, research, and campus activities in person. Faculty members are planning for in-person courses, and the vast majority of courses in the Spring 2022 term will be offered in person with only a handful of courses being offered virtually. Please confirm your plans to attend courses in person this spring via the Semester Intent Form, which will be available the week of November 8. An additional registration hold has been applied to your record to prevent registration in Spring 2022 courses until your semester intent form has been processed. The hold will be released one to two business days following the intent form submission. Please submit the form before your registration day in order for the hold to be lifted in time for you to register.
Registration Holds and Course Details
An advising hold has been applied to your record, with the exception of Engineering Management Masters students. Please make an appointment to meet with your advisor before your enrollment appointment so you can review your enrollment plans together and they can release this hold. You may have additional holds on your record that may prevent registration. It is important to review and address holds in advance of registration.
We strongly suggest you review Class Notes for every class you plan to enroll in to look for additional information about planned meeting patterns and locations. With most courses being in-person, students should not be taking courses that meet at the same time. Students are expected to attend their classes at the times listed in SIS, and enrolling in a course that has a time conflict error is not encouraged. We understand that this may happen due to asynchronous courses that are offered or senior thesis or research courses. In these cases, the instructor must submit an Enrollment Correction form for students to be enrolled. Students will not be able to enroll themselves in the course.

- November 17 – Spring 2022 registration for Graduate and Postbac students
- November 18 – Spring 2022 registration for all engineers, BFA, SMFA and NEC combined-degree students, and rising LA Seniors, including 5th years (first- or second-semester senior in spring 2022)
- November 19 – Spring 2022 registration for rising LA Juniors (first- or second-semester junior in spring 2022)
- November 22 – Spring 2022 registration for rising LA Sophomores (first- or second-semester sophomore in spring 2022)
- November 23 – Spring 2022 registration for rising LA First-Years (first- or second-semester first-year in spring 2022)
