Registration for Spring 2026 courses is ongoing: currently open for grad students and seniors, and will be open for third-year students starting Monday, 10 November. Thank you to all who have volunteered to promote LCSL programs in SCE! (See photos from Tuesday below.) We have talked to dozens of students already (some of whom may pop up in your classes next semester), and we’ve been giving out candy, flyers, and buttons to all who stop by and chat about UIC’s fantastic language and culture offerings.
Help us get the word out about all your program’s classes: please send us your 15-second videos and/or photos with captions and we will post them on our LCLC Instagram page to show everyone how your program is thriving! Students love hearing about what their professors enjoy about teaching their language, fun facts about their language, their favorite things to do around this time of year, and fun facts about themselves (pets, hobbies, etc.). To publicize your program, send an email to lclc@uic.edu with:
|
- A photo of yourself with a written caption (1-2 sentences) about any of the above topics, and/or…
- A very short (15-30-second) video of yourself talking about one of the above topics, or an audio with a picture or animation.

Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, and Spanish instructors: your language students can apply to become a tutor/LLA! The application for Spring 2026 is now open for undergraduate students completing 104, 114, or any upper-level class to join the Peer Tutor Apprenticeship program for Spring 2026. Tutors and LLAs help our 100-level students thrive, and they themselves gain valuable hands-on job experience and professional development training that make them stronger candidates for internships and jobs. They also take our upper-level classes, so they help our enrollments, too!
Thank you to everyone who came to our recent special events! The CS/LING and Linguistics LinkedIn Workshop was a great help to our students, the French Halloween and painting events were a ton of fun, and we had a packed house for Italian music performed by Teo Bok!
