Welcome, new and returning Wildcats!

Dear Friends,
Our first newsletter of 2023 features something we’re very proud of at University Libraries: new welcome signs that we designed to convey a sense of belonging and inspiration to all who enter our buildings.
We believe it's very important that every student feel at home in the Main Library, the Albert B. Weaver Science-Engineering Library, the Health Sciences Library, and Special Collections, and have a sense of collective ownership that this is their library as fellow Wildcats.
You’ll notice that "welcome" is expressed in English, Spanish, and the languages of the Tohono O'odham Nation and Pascua Yaqui Tribe. This embraces our identity at the University of Arizona as a Hispanic-Serving Institution and an American Indian and Native Alaskan-Serving Institution.
Our welcome signs also represent the Libraries’ commitment to the success of every student which includes proactive outreach to those from historically underserved communities who can benefit from the various services, resources, and support that we provide. Our faculty and staff do a great job ensuring that our libraries are places where everyone – library users and employees alike – are welcome and have an opportunity to thrive.
Your support is also an essential part of the equation, and we are grateful for that, as well.
Best wishes for a healthy and prosperous 2023!
