Our Blink Mural Is Complete!

BLINK 2019 is a wrap! When the opportunity came up to participate in such a monumental event for this city that we love, of course, we signed ourselves up to be involved in not one, but three different parts of the event. The "Future City" Light Parade kicked us off Thursday night where the KCB staff were decked out in illuminated costumes made out of commonly recycled items. We also installed four Recycling “Party Cans” in Washington Park that emitted a light and sound show when someone recycled. Last but not least, we completed KCB’s first-ever crowdsourced mural titled “Make Your Mark” at 1809 Race Street. We were able to work with over 500 individuals over the course of three days to make their mark on a BLINK mural. Stay tuned for the final images, once our Arts Team is able to come in and add a glow in the dark text graphic tying it all together!

Environmental Education

Green Teams empower students to take action and assist their school’s recycling efforts. New this year, KCB is amping up our Green Team Support! Register your Green Team with us and we will come out, offer advice, give supplies like “Recycling Crew” t-shirts, and help your team get started! Then, enter to win our Green Team Quarterly Prizes including a certificate of acknowledgment, a feature about your team, green gifts for all members, and a $150 award!
Shout out to Covedale Elementary for taking on our Green Team Challenge! Team members will complete tasks each quarter to ensure their school is up to date, in the know, and excited about going green.

Corporate Events: Cincinnati Bell Recap!

Our friends at Cincinnati Bell joined us on October 4th for a thorough pre-BLINK cleanup in the Central Business District and OTR. In less than 8 hours, 400 volunteers covered over 300 ACRES of space and collected 7 TONS of trash and debris! Together we painted hydrants, collected litter, pulled weeds, began transformation on the 3rd Street greenspace renovation, and improved 2 neighborhood parks! Thank you to Cincinnati Bell and their hard-working employees who joined us!
