Communication is important in all classes, but it is critical in online courses or any course that has a remote component.  Good communication includes things like announcements and email, but can go beyond these tools to include less obvious forms of communication such as grades, summaries, and even self-assessments.  In this workshop we’ll go over a number of strategies for staying connected to students and how to implement these methods in your class.

Learn about the key functions of Webex and how these features can benefit classes, online office hours, or meetings, including some recent updates like full access to the Webex Assistant. 

This workshop will also cover using Webex through the Learning Management System integration, which will allow you and students to access sessions through your course.  Additionally, we'll cover added benefits such as automatic access to recordings and setup of office hours.  

It's always important to choose the right tool for the job, including when planning lessons or assignments in the Learning Management System.  Learn about the four primary learning tools - Discussion Boards, Blogs, Journals, and Wikis - including the best use cases for each tool and their strengths for certain types of assignments.    

This workshop will cover the fundamentals of creating, managing, and grading Blackboard Assignments and Turnitin Assignments.  Offering online assessments in the Learning Management System allows you to keep records of submission and your feedback right in the Learning Management System - plus, it's more environmentally friendly (no printing!).
