Could patients experience less pain and possibly have better recovery outcomes if their fears or emotional issues were addressed before surgery?

Rebecca Koszalinski, assistant professor in the College of Nursing; Anahita Khojandi, assistant professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering in the Tickle College of Engineering; and Bruce Ramshaw, a physician and adjunct professor in the Haslam College of Business, recently developed a predictive model to examine that question.

Each spring, a select cohort of faculty are invited to participate in ORE's Proposal Writing Institute in preparation for applying to the National Science Foundation’s Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER).

The Disasters, Displacement, and Human Rights program has joined with the Southern Anthropological Society to present a joint conference, serving as the Fourth Biennial Disasters, Displacement, and Human Rights Conference and the 54^th Annual Meeting of the Southern Anthropological Society, which will take place April 3- April 5, 2020.
