UIC Is Moving to a Modern LMS |
UIC will be transitioning to a modern LMS to continue providing students with the best learning technology available. Modern LMS platforms enhance student learning conditions across several domains, including accessibility, security, usability, and innovative features. Changes like these come with challenges as well, but the long-term benefits outweigh the short-term difficulties.

AI in the Classroom: How NotebookLM Can Turn Complex Texts into Engaging Learning Experiences |
NotebookLM is a new tool by Google with the potential to majorly enhance students' study practices. Its key features include AI-powered synthesis, summary, and organization of source material into products like study guides, briefings, and FAQs. It can generate podcasts that survey a text or texts, and it can answer student queries based on the text or texts. Limitations include potential impacts on student agency, simplification of complex topics, and data privacy concerns. Faculty should emphasize critical analysis and reflective learning.
