INDIE SINGER SONGWRITER & RECORDING ARTIST
TY STONEHAWKER
RELEASES BOOT-STOMPIN’ SINGLE
PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!
Soulful Hoot & Holler Telltale
Available Now Via All Digital Retail And Streaming Platforms
NASHVILLE, Tenn- Breakout indie jam band artist Ty Stonehawker (Stonehouse Entertainment), recognized for his eclectic recordings and colorful, energetic live performances, celebrates the release of his new single, "Please! Please! Please!"* The rootsy, hoot-and-holler track, written by Stonehawker and engineered and produced by acclaimed Mark “Mooka'' Rennick (Tom Waits/Journey/Ufo/Bob Dylan Gavin Bryars/Billy Prine) rouses the boot-stomping energy of Mumford and Sons and caters to audiences with a palate for flavorful music. The single is AVAILABLE NOW via all digital retail and streaming outlets. (Digital retail and streaming services headed by Ed Gertler/Digital Retail Services.)

Embracing a tumultuous personal chapter of Stonehawker’s life and rustic roots, the evocative musical narrative unfolds with a raw authenticity to merge seamlessly with upbeat, barn-burning bluegrass instrumentation. Telltale lyrics plead for redemption while the beckoning chorus, “Please, please, please, let me go back to my baby, let me go back to my kin,” heightens the cinematic storyline that echoes the inherent emotional cry to revisit nostalgic moments. Stonehawker’s gravelly vocals, supported by a rolling rhythm section, portray a weariness sustained by a spirited and jovial thread of hope to return to the familiar, and comforting arms of home and loved ones.

“This track feels like ‘O Brother Where Art Thou’ meets Mumford & Sons,” said the Portland, Oregon-based singer-songwriter. “It’s a true ’lemons into lemonade’ story; I wrote this one while sitting in jail. The lyrics are a tell-all. Nuff said!”

Recorded at Prairie Sun Studios (Cotata, CA), Studio 115 in Oklahoma City, OK and a private boutique studio in Portland, OR owned by Mooka, the tune’s instrumental prowess features performances by a cadre of seasoned musicians, boasts folky resonance, and is complemented by simplistic production to spotlight driving acoustic guitars, spirited banjo plucks, and a pulsing rhythm section that harnesses Stonehawker’s effervescent personality and live performance.

The lead track from Stonehawker’s much anticipated CD, GAMBLIN’ MAN (due mid-July 2024) “Please! Please! Please!” is a testament to his commitment to honest, heartfelt storytelling and artistic versatility.

ABOUT TY STONEHAWKER
Immerse yourself in the world of Ty Stonehawker and you'll encounter a vibrant tapestry of life experiences. From a groupie that followed jam bands in a 1978 lime green Volkswagen Microbus to becoming a popular radio personality (known as "Stoney" on 95.3 KPND) and sitting behind bars in a jail cell, his life's story is as diverse as his music.

With a past that's both dark and fanciful, Ty's journey from turmoil to transformation has deeply influenced his musical artistry and affinity for the abstract. Drawing inspiration from an eclectic range of artists, he channels the psychedelic vibe of The Grateful Dead, the insightful lyrics of Bob Dylan, the energetic performances of Pearl Jam, the soulful melodies of Blind Melon, the classic sounds of Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Sturgill Simpson, Billy Strings and his personal favorite, Phish. Ty’s deep admiration for songwriters like Ingrid Michaelson and Jack Johnson is evident in his lyrical craftsmanship.

Ty's life, mirroring his music, is a rich narrative of adventure, reflection, and the transformative magic of music, proving that a checkered past can lead to a luminous future.

Ty (aka Stoney Holiday and, more recently, Ty Holiday) has recorded and released numerous, various recordings throughout his career. Changing directions, heading toward a more purposeful and personal path, he recently recorded a six-song CD --  GAMBLIN’ MAN which is moved to, and slated for a mid-July 2024 release.
