Healthy Minds Survey launches

UW–Madison students are invited to participate in the 2019 Healthy Minds Study, which will help campus better understand student mental health and related issues, including sources of support and the campus climate around mental health. By participating, you are helping campus better understand the unique mental health needs of graduate students. Findings from the study will help shape programs, services, and campus-wide strategy for student mental health. You may have received a survey link in their wisc.edu email on Tuesday, April 9. The survey is open until April 30, and 700 students who respond will be randomly selected to receive $10 on their Wiscard. For more information, visit uhs.wisc.edu/healthy-minds.

Wellness Tips: Get a good night's sleep

We have all fallen into the relentless cycle of feeling tired at work or school due to our lack of sleep. Despite the number of times we’ve sworn we’ll go to bed earlier the next night, we still have trouble getting a full night’s sleep. If you have been feeling sleep deprived lately and want to break the sleeplessness cycle, here are several changes you can make to your bed time schedule so you can start waking up feeling refreshed and ready to conquer the day.
As a UWMadison student, you have access to some of the mental health and wellness resources available online through University Health Services. The resources listed below are self-guided and available at any time to help you navigate the challenges of being a student.
YOU@WISC: An online portal with information and resources for resilience and well-being. It covers stress management, self-care and social support, anger management, suicidal thoughts, mindfulness, and more.
SilverCloud: A self-guided mental health resource that provides treatment options 24 hours a day, no referral from a mental health or medical provider needed. It includes evidence-based learning modules on anxiety, depression, body image, and stress, designed to help students manage day-to-day stresses and improve resilience.
