Dear Community,
We first released this 2 min film, Dear Student, before the pandemic, as an invitation to teenagers and students of all ages to take a challenge: to unplug for one day.
Now, a year into the pandemic, we're re-releasing Dear Student with the exact same challenge. This weekend is National Day of Unplugging, and we invite you all -- all ages, all backgrounds -- to unplug, en masse.
The first National Day of Unplugging 11 years ago was what started my family's and my discovery of the power of unplugging. We found it so transformative that instead of doing it once a year, we decided to do it every week. I write all about it in my book 24/6.
To kick off this year's National Day of Unplugging, I hope you'll join us for a very special ZoomChallahBake featuring a fantastic group of inspiring teens who unplug every weekend, and want to talk about the power of it. The teens include my daughter Odessa, who plans to bring her Tech Shabbat practice with her to college next year, as well as Amy Crouch, Jack Brustkern, and Zevi Samet, who all have created super interesting initiatives around the subject.
We invite you to forward this to all teenagers and students in your life. It's going to be a special one. If you're not up for baking, don't worry! You're welcome to just listen.
See you Friday!
