The Student Accessibility and Academic Resources (StAAR) Center has great academic success and writing workshops coming up this week! Join us for "Write Early, Write Often: The Writing Process for Senior Thesis Writers" on Monday, November 6, at 12 noon–1 p.m. in the Dowling Hall Milmore Room and "Sustaining Good Habits" on Wednesday, November 8, at 12 noon–1 p.m. in Cummings Center Room 260. KBUG: Navigating Race and Ethnicity Abroad |
Please join Tufts Global Education (TGE) and the Division of Student Diversity and Inclusion (DSDI) in our upcoming Know Before U Go (KBUG) event, Navigating Race & Ethnicity Abroad. The event will take place on Wednesday, November 8, in Tisch Library Room 224 (DSDI Research Hub) at 5:30–7 p.m., and dinner will be served!

Investigating How Much Water Karachi Actually Needs |
Join Tufts professor Hassaan Khan on Thursday, November 9, at 12 noon for this week's Hoch Cunningham Environmental Lectures (HoCu) talk. This lecture will present two contextually tailored mixed-methods approaches to estimate household water use in the coastal megacity of Karachi, Pakistan. Along with study findings, this lecture will feature a discussion of the infrastructural and institutional challenges of producing empirical evidence to inform urban water management in the Global South.

| Supreme Court Decision on Affirmative Action in College Admissions: Potential Impacts and Paths Forward |
Few topics are as important to higher education as the impact of the recent Supreme Court (SCOTUS) affirmative action ruling. The court held that race-based affirmative action programs in college admissions processes violate the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. Will this impact college admissions and the U.S. workplace? If so, how? Join us for a Zoom webinar sponsored by the Tufts Lawyers Association on Thursday, November 9, at 6:30 p.m. Students are welcome!

EcoCinema Month: AWAKE (2017) |
Join us on Thursday, November 9, at 7 p.m. in Barnum Hall Room 104 for the second screening of EcoCinema Month. We will watch AWAKE, A Dream from Standing Rock (2017) and have a discussion about indigenous rights, fossil fuel investment, and activism. Attend to have the chance to win a Moviegoer Gift Basket at the end of the screening series! Entry is free, and snack will be provided.

Majors Month Continues
A&S Majors Exploration Fair, Tuesday, November 7, at 11 a.m.–3 p.m., Breed Memorial Hall (51 Winthrop St.)
Speak with A&S depts and get answers to questions about majors/minors and the declaration process! SOE and A&S students considering an additional major/minor or interested in learning more about the internal transfer process to A&S or SOE can come by to have all your questions answered. Entering the Second Week of the Advising Period
Please remember to reach out and schedule an appointment with your Major Advisor, Pre-Major Advisor, or designated Senior Academic Advisor to plan for your spring 2024 courses and to have your Registration HOLD lifted. Spring 2024 courses are currently available to view on SIS.
