I don't know about you but I think this is really great to see students problem-solving. Thirteen and fourteen olds arguing about what JavaScript solution they need to employ to make their API-based application work. These students are not one-offs. Code for Life has 70 students from Harlem and the Bronx who are being equipped to become the next creators and makers. They are so gifted! This summer we anticipate having 90 students taking our Web Basics (HTML, CSS, Git, GitHub), Software Development I & II (JavaScript), and Software Development III (Ruby & Ruby on Rails).
Our young people have just completed the most difficult school year I've ever seen. They are hungry to learn! To grow! They can code! We need help. So we invite you to invest in our young people by providing financial support for our program this summer. Through you, we can have more students learning to code and creating applications where they are problem solvers! Please join our tremendous partners; the Harlem Children's Zone, Bowery Mission, Young Life, PS 349, and JHS 123 this summer in our mission to equip the next generation of Creators & Makers!
This summer we will be having Web Basics, Javascript, and Ruby classes with 90 students in the Harlem, Soundview, and Mott Haven neighborhoods of our city every Monday through Thursday morning and afternoons.
