APRIL 2026

FROM THE PARENT PROGRAM DIRECTOR

We’re just a few days away from final exams, the close of the spring semester and the excitement of commencement. The campus has been buzzing with wonderful activities like Singarama, Holy Week and Beautiful Day. During Singarama, it was a joy to see our students shine—sharing their talents, creativity and voices with us. We couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments.

As your students prepare for finals next week, please know we are cheering them on and keeping them in our prayers. We hope you enjoy the photos below, which capture some of the joyful moments we’ve recently shared on campus.

Beautiful Day Highlights

It was a BEAUTIFUL DAY on April 1! One of the favorite undergraduate student traditions is Beautiful Day — a day when undergraduate classes are cancelled to give students a day filled with fun, fellowship, carnival rides, good food and more! This year, President Candice McQueen declared Wednesday, April 1, a Beautiful Day. The Office of Student Life did an outstanding job planning this exciting day for our students. One of the highlights of the day was partnering with The Bridge to pack 8,200 snack packs for Nashville area children. Check out this link to see all the highlights from the day.

On the first Tuesday of each month the parent program hosts a monthly prayer Zoom for our Lipscomb families. You are invited to join us May 5 as we get to know other parents, share prayer requests and praises.
Joseph Mankin (’04) will be sharing with us during our time together. The Zoom begins at 10:55 a.m. CT. Mankin is the associate dean of spiritual formation and campus minister at Lipscomb University.
The Zoom begins at 10:55 a.m. CT. This is the same time that our students will be in “The Gathering” which is our large group chapel. What a beautiful thing it is to take a break in the day to worship and pray together. Feel free to join us on screen or by voice—we understand you may be working!

ACADEMICS

A small summer schedule could make fall easier
As the 2025-2026 school year concludes, has your student considered taking a couple of summer courses? Doing so will fast-track fulfilling their degree plan commitments and potentially put them on course to graduate early. Maybe your student would benefit from the opportunity to laser focus on a really difficult class or knock out some general education courses. On campus, online, asynchronous—summer offerings are flexible and affordable.
Why Summer Sessions?
  • Reduced tuition rate
  • $250 in Lipscomb Bucks
  • Choose from 100+ courses—in-person, online, global learning
Visit the Summer Sessions page to learn more.

As we approach the May 2026 Commencement, we want to ensure you have all the information for the upcoming ceremony.  Please see the highlights below:
  • Official Commencement Webpage: Please visit Lipscomb’s Commencement Webpage for the most up-to-date information. We recommend scrolling to the bottom of that page for the FAQ section, which covers ticketing, accessible seating, parking, photography, and more.
  • Ceremony Schedule: The undergraduate ceremony begins at 3 p.m. Doors to Allen Arena will open 90 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony.
  • Student Rehearsal: Students have a mandatory rehearsal at 1:30 p.m. in the Student Activity Center. They will walk directly from rehearsal into Allen Arena for the graduation ceremony.
  • Ticketing: Undergraduate students received an email in early April with ticketing details. Each graduating senior receives six tickets. For specific ticketing questions not answered on the website, please contact provostoffice@lipscomb.edu. Please make sure to get your tickets from your graduate prior to the graduation ceremony.
  • Live Stream: For friends and family who cannot attend in person, a live stream will be available to watch the ceremony remotely.
  • Diplomas: For students completing degree requirements in May can expect to receive their diplomas no later than 8-10 weeks after the date of graduation. Diplomas will be mailed to the address filed on the Intent to Graduate form.
We look forward to celebrating this milestone with you and your graduate!

FINANCIAL AID

2026-27 Aid packages are underway! If your student has not completed their FAFSA, they should do so right away or their fall aid and bill will not be correct!
New loan limits go into effect July 1, 2026. Please note:
  • First time Parent Plus loan borrowers will have new limits. Contact us if you are considering a Parent Plus loan for the first time.
  • Part time students will be subject to pro-rated loan limits. Part time enrollment has many aid consequences but the loan limit is new. Students should always consult us or our FA Counselors when considering less than full time enrollment.
Contact us with questions at financialaid@lipscomb.edu or 615-966-1791.
