As you navigate the busy final weeks of your student’s high school career, take a deep breath and congratulate yourself (oh, and your student!) for a job well done! We’re excited to welcome your First-Year Pilot to campus in a few short months for this next exciting chapter in their life!

Over the next four years, these Parent & Family Newsletters will keep you informed and up-to-date on important dates, campus resources, and insights into your student’s college experience.

Like you, I am the parent of a college student; we are walking the same walk with the same hopes and concerns for our students’ overall success. Parents: Your Top 5 Tasks to Do This Month

Studies show that support from parents and other loved ones is crucial to student success. There's a lot to learn and prepare for in these next few months, especially if this is your first child to head to college; we'll be sharing information you'll want to know so you can continue your role as the amazing morale boosters, safety nets and voices of reason you've been all along! Trust us, your support has been appreciated!

Campus Offices Are Open All Summer!

Most offices, including Alumni & Parent Relations, Residence Life, Shepard Academic Resource Center, Career Education Center, Registrar, Academic Counseling, Financial Aid, and Student Accounts are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. all summer and are happy to help students with questions.

Fall Tuition Invoice Available July 7

Fall tuition and housing invoices will be emailed to students’ UP email accounts on July 7; payment is due on August 7. Learn how to set up Parent Proxy access to gain access to this information; your student must initiate the process for granting proxy access to you. Alumni & Parent Relations will be hosting a webinar on July 12 with staff from Financial Aid and Student Accounts who can provide tips and answer questions about the invoice and payment. Registration for our summer webinars will be in next month's newsletter.

What to Expect on Your Invoice

Plan Ahead for Student (and family!) Orientation

New Student Orientation is for students and their families. It starts on move-in day, Thursday, August 24, and the parent sessions end on Saturday. Don't miss this chance to meet the UP community and fellow Pilot Parents, as you learn about important University services and resources.

Encourage your student to complete their pre-arrival orientation course before they arrive on campus in August.
