Hao Wang (PI), ECE Assistant Professor, received three NSF Awards: $450K for his project “CSR: CORE: Enhancing Energy Awareness for Efficient Federated Learning over Mobile AI Systems,” $300K for his project “OAC: CORE: Harvesting Idle Resources Safely and Timely for Large-scale AI Applications in High-Performance Computing Systems,” and $100K for his project “SaTC: CORE: Critical Learning Periods Augmented Robust Federated Learning.”

Pin-Kuang Lai, CEMS Assistant Professor, has been named a 2024 Top Scholar by ScholarGPS in his field of antibody research. He was ranked in the top 0.5% of all scholars worldwide. Based on his scholarly work in the last 5 years, he was also ranked in the top 0.28% in the field of Antibody, 0.09% of Monoclonal antibody therapy and 1.76% of machine learning researchers worldwide.

Merit Switzer Research Fellowship Winner |
Zahava Hirsch, BME Ph.D. student advised by Antonia Zaferiou, was awarded the Merit Switzer Research Fellowship for Doctoral Dissertation Research, receiving $44K in support. The Switzer Research Fellowship Program enables highly qualified individuals, including those with disabilities, to pursue research in rehabilitation, independent living, and related disability outcomes.

Erin Kreis, BME Presidential Doctoral Fellow, received a $10K fellowship from Tau Beta Pi to support her second year of doctoral studies in the Musculoskeletal Control and Dynamics Laboratory in BME at Stevens.

Jun (Sam) Ming Liu, BME Ph.D. student, was awarded the outstanding dissertation award and the peer mentoring award at the 2025 graduate student award ceremony. In addition, he was awarded the Undergraduate Research Mentor Award in April.
