The Seattle International Film Festival continues with films from all over the world.
The Swiss film #Female Pleasure where five repression-battling women are profiled, will be shown on May 31 and June 1.
These women come from different religious backgrounds but find that patriarchal fear of female sexual autonomy is universal.

3rd LOCARNO FILM FESTIVAL IN LOS ANGELES

June 13 - 16
The third annual Locarno Film Festival in Los Angeles, running from June 13 to 16, returns with a special four-day program that will include a 35mm opening night presentation of Leo McCarey's 1937 classic The Awful Truth at LACMA, followed by an exclusive three-day program of Los Angeles premieres at the Laemmle Music Hall, including the highly-anticipated arrival of the 14-hour Argentine epic La Flor.
Charting a course across the entire history of cinema, Locarno in Los Angeles promises to once again bring a tantalizing taste of one of the world’s best film festivals to Los Angeles for a one-of-a-kind event.

17 SWISS FILMS AT PALM SPRINGS INTERNATIONAL SHORTFEST

June 18 - 24
The Palm Springs International ShortFest -- celebrating its 25th anniversary -- is the largest short film event in North America.

A highly competitive festival, ShortFest receives over 5,000 submissions from over 100 countries around the globe. Approximately 325 shorts are selected and screened in 90-minute themed programs, with many of the remaining titles available for viewing in the Market. An Oscar®, BAFTA® and Los Premios Goya-qualifying festival, ShortFest has presented more than 100 shorts that have gone on to receive Oscar® nominations and/or awards.

SWISS TOUCH: TO THE MOON AND BEYOND...

50th Anniversary of Humankind on the Moon

On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 touched down on the lunar surface, safely delivering Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin—the first humans to land on the moon. The Swiss Solar Wind Composition Experiment, manufactured by the University of Bern and the Swiss National Science Foundation, was the only non-American experiment to be part of the Apollo landings.

Where do we stand after 50 years, and where are we headed?
Gather with astronauts, scientists, and artists to discuss the past, the future, and our inspiration for the unknown space.

Among the esteemed speakers are Switzerland's first astronaut in orbit, Claude Nicollier, and Jill Tarter, Emeritus Chair for SETI Research at the SETI Institute, who was named one of the Time 25 in Space in 2012.
