Requirements Reminder
September 28, 2022
Dear International Student,
We hope your semester is off to a terrific start and that you have settled into the routine of a new academic year.
Over the course of last spring and summer, we have reminded students of the health and immunization requirements necessary to attend Tufts. The deadline was July 1st. We are writing to you today because we understand that as an international student, you may not have been able to get all of the immunizations required to attend Tufts before your arrival. For that reason, we had extended the deadline for international students.
As we previously noted, all students must complete an online medical history, a TB risk assessment, and provide proof of required immunizations by October 3. For more information about immunization requirements, please visit: http://go.tufts.edu/healthrequirements.
Take action now
Please make sure that you have already met all the requirements and are now in compliance. If you have not already done so, complete these requirements now via the Health Service Patient Portal:
  • You must enter your immunization history in the patient portal.
  • For questions about requirements and immunizations, please send a message via the Patient Portal to the Immunization Reviewer.
  • You can complete your TB risk assessment and your medical history. In some cases, the TB risk assessment might lead to additional testing.
  • Again, if you need to receive immunizations, call the Health Service at 617-627-3350 to make an appointment.
  • If you are under age 18 and require additional vaccinations, please also contact the Health Service at 617-627-3350.
  • Note that the Health Service needs 10 business days to review your submitted records before the hold can be lifted.
  • If Health Service staff need to contact you with questions or ask for more information about the documents after you submit, we will contact you via the Patient Portal (http://go.tufts.edu/portal) message inbox.
  • You will receive a confirmation letter via the Portal once your record has been approved as complete.
Enrollment hold
If you remain out of compliance, an enrollment hold will be placed on your account on Monday, October 3. This hold means that you will not be allowed to register for any future classes, including spring semester classes that begin registration mid-November, until you meet this requirement. Please note that it will take 10 business days after you complete submitting your vaccine compliance information for it to be verified and the hold to be lifted. has been met. Registration for the spring term will start in mid-November as noted on the academic calendar.
Again, if you need to receive immunizations, call the Health Service at 617-627-3350 to make an appointment.
You have until December 3 to receive your COVID booster and flu vaccines, but we recommend getting these now too.
With all best wishes,
